Crazy Ed's in Cave Creek had sawdust on the floors. I don't know about the "shoot outs".

I seem to remember it as a one building town. Thought it was a saloon but don't know.
I seem to remember one building too...long and low. I don't remember it being a town. I just followed the link and that's not it. This was a steak house...steak, cowboy beans and either salad or bread I think. I ate there a few times with my parents in the '60's and then went out to wherever it was in about '85. North of Scottsdale maybe...in the mountains? When I was a kid I think it was way out a dirt road somewhere.

Hmmm...I visited their website and I don't remember the name but I do remember a place called Reata Pass...maybe that was it. I looked at their photos and I don't recognize anything but then again it's bee 25 yrs since the last visit. I just remember good steaks, beans...and ties hanging from the ceiling...you weren't allowed to wear a tie at the place I'm remembering or they would cut it off. Maybe lots of business cards too.

Reata Pass and Pinnacle Peak had the ties on the ceiling... don't remember gunfights, but one of them was sort of a western "town". If your steak was ordered well-done, you'd get a plate with a boot on it (again, don't remember which did that, maybe both did).

I also liked El Diablo (I thnk is the correct name), just down the street. Anyway I understand it was also a Bill Johnson owned restaurant but it had Mexican food. They had outstanding exterior neon.

They were both great for a date night at the movies.
Wow, I hadn't thought about El diablo since you mentioned it!

I could be wrong but I think Rawhide came later on. I don't think that was it. Pinnacle Peak sounds familiar too. The memory just isn't what it used to be.

I think it was Pinnacle Peak. I don't remember patio dining back in the 60's but the website showed some old photos and I can see a long, low building. A steak sure sounds good right now.
