Yes, I DO remember that. And back then, there wasn't a clock in every room on the wall or as part of some electronic device, so we actually needed to use that number, especially after a power outage.
Crazy as it is, I still remember both my phone and license plate numbers from when I lived in Oregon in the 60s. I couldn't tell you what my license plate number is NOW! lol I wonder why our brain remembers some things like that and not others. Hmmmm...

Roosevelt, would you be so kind as to break out one of the old phone books and set us all right?

I'm thinking sometime early 60's would be about right.

Here are two more photos - the first photo is probably 90 plus years old - interesting to look at the students clothes and the landscape in the background.

Ever notice how many older ladies who were teachers back then were "Miss"? I remember a number of age 40+ who never married when I was in school in the 60's. I wonder why that was...it doesn't seem to be that way now.

My thinking is that back then women either got married and became housewives and mothers or they devoted their lives to their students as teachers. Being a teacher was one of a very few occupations outside the home that were socially acceptable for women back then.

I THOUGHT it was the guy who played Harvey Trundel (from the noon-time Ladmo Show) but the glasses threw me. Now I remember Clifton Flowers the face, not the name. He bears an uncanny resemblance to a Mississippi rockabilly artist named Webb Wilder. Thanks for the info.
