There was a place called (Jay's Cocktails?) just north of Grand and west of 35th. Red brick building. Where the old 1st National Bank moved in for a while. I think it's a strip club now. Jay's may have moved east on Indian School in the late 60s. I think directly north of McDonalds about 33rd Ave. It's a red brick building.

While we're visiting 35th and Indian School Rd in the 60s. There used to be a hamburger stand on the NW corner as well. Anybody remember it? I can't remember what was on the NE corner before the bridge.

can you find a yellow page ad or other?
If you go to Maricopa County, Arizona and check the recorded documents section, you can probably find some extensive info on ownership, etc.

I ate today for the last time ever at Bill Johnson's Big Apple on Van Buren. They are closing their doors on Sunday at 3 p.m. Pretty sad, although the place was packed with people who want to eat there one last time. I had the deep dish apple pie with ice cream, just as I did when I went there on the first date I ever had, back in 1974.

Another piece of Phoenix history gone.

Thank You for the pictures. It has been a long time since I've seen those scenes and items. It brings back so many memories of the days of youth, fun and anticipation of things to come.

I do, it was kind of hidden in a breeze way. That area used to be the Air Haven Airport.

Yeah Big Apple! I slept in their ol' wooden wagon car one night my motorcycle broke down, this was at 19th and bell, before cell fones. Any mention of Los Arcos Mall in this thread? Scottsdale rd & McDowell rd?
Also what is up with the new lights on the giant tower on north mountain area(19th & cactus)? Looks like when you unplug the alarm clock and it blinks violently. I miss the old fading light that lit my way home on those late nights.

There's been a few mentions of Los Arcos. It always seemed to have kind of a quieter, more mellow vibe than the other malls.
