I always thought it was interetsing how much public land is in Arizona. So different from Texas with almost none.

Just remember....no campfires. Bring a propane fire if you want but...no open flames or charcoal.

Campfire restrictions have been lifted in all but maybe county parks.

We had to camp once with no campfire. Miserable. Glad the restrictions have been lifted.

They usually go in right after Memorial Day and are lifted a week or so after the monsoon fires up. The monsoon up north is much more reliable than here in the desert, so that is the second week of July give or take.

This is the West brotha. Just drive up in to the mountains, pull off on an old logging road and pick your spot. Just make sure you check local campfire restrictions ahead of time.

Mongolia is in Asia. The mountain you are referring to is the Mogollon Rim, pronounced muggy-own.

You can use zip code 85544 when checking a weather website. Please, please, please be very careful with fire while you're up there. The fire danger is lower now than it usually is in the summer, but you are still in a forest, and a lot of people have homes in the vicinity. Thank you!
