Default Traveling around, rent or taxi?

Im flying out to Phoenix again in December but would like to know, would I be better off renting a car (Im 21) or having a taxi? Most companies rent out to 21 year olds, however they charge extra per day.

Thanks!

How long will you be out here?

Actually, I would say rent a car in any situation, even if you are out here for only one day. Taxis are expensive since the city is so sprawled out and a rental will be more convenient.

Rent. The only time you should use a taxi while you are here is if you have been drinking.

Definitely rent, BurtsBees

You may want to try "shopping" on the internet for specials.

Rent, but if you can, try to rent on a Thursday, rather than Friday. I've found that sometimes they offer deals if it's not a weekend day. I've usually rented from Enterprise and have been happy with their prices and service.

Renting a car is definitely the better choice.

Another vote for renting. When I arrived in September (relocated out here) I figured "just take a cab from the airport". To north Phoenix (near Kierland): nearly $60! Of course my employer covered it but... Distance: Maybe 20 or so miles if that....

Great point, ivanabacowboy . . . that 60 bucks would cover at least one day, possibly more, of a rental bill.
