I was pleasantly shocked to open the door awhile ago and be met by a COOL breeze. I can't remember the last time that happened. Just the other day I was wondering if summer would ever end--the same thing I wonder every year.

Another summer is drawing to a close. HOORAY!

I was able to keep the doors and windows open until almost 11 AM yesterday and did not have to turn on the A/C until 3:30 PM. Looks like the worst is behind us and the season for real Arizona living is fast approaching.

Enjoy, because the weatherman said we will be back in triple digits next week. We're darned close though!

I'm just curious. What weather info are you using? The site I use doesn't put us anywhere near the 100's.

It was the Channel 5 news: 10 Day Forecast For Phoenix, AZ - CBS 5 - KPHO His prediction was that it really won't feel like this again, until the third week in October. I hope he's wrong - this weather is beautiful!

Official temps (Sky Harbor) still show Phoenix getting up to 99º in the next 10 days.

We may bump the low 100s again for a day or two, but nights and mornings in the 60s are here to stay - maybe not at the airport but out where most of us live. From now to early December, to me is the best time of the entire year.

I agree Ponderosa. While the summer heat has it's benefits in my case, fall and early spring are my times of year. The lakes are inviting as I'm an avid fisherman and those times of year are some of the best bass fishing, my pool is the right temperature and it's not so hot that it keeps me from taking in some of the scenery on my motorcycle.
Yes, I sure do like Arizona. Been here for two years but I have survived three summers. June 19th, 2011 was my first day here and the longer I'm here, the better I like it.
Right now I get to start poking some fun and people I know that live elsewhere. I moved from Oregon and right now, they are getting a lot of rain, somewhat cold temps and quite a bit of wind while I'm sitting out on my patio having my morning coffee and enjoying the sunshine and debating if I'm going to take a nice scenic motorcycle ride to Strawberry or take the boat out fishing.
Another friend of mine spends the summers in Montana. He usually comes back to Arizona at the end of October but I don't think he is going to stay that long this year. They already got snow and it's been raining a lot there so I'm guessing he will be packing up soon and heading this way.
Yup, for the next 6+ months, we get to poke fun at most of the rest of the country as they start shoveling snow and trudging through winter.
Gotta love that. lol.

Am I the only one around here that actually enjoys summer!? Don't get me wrong I like the fall and winter weather as well but it's not without it's downsides...specifically the incredibly short days. I hate leaving for work when it's dark and getting home when it's dark.

Hey, as I insinuated in my last post, I love the summers here even when it's sizzling. I have a pool and a boat. What's not to like?
