I might have missed it, but no one has mentioned the winters in Dallas! In Phoenix, it can get cold, sometimes in the low 30's (with an occasional ground freeze warning). However, in Dallas, it often gets in the low 30's and also rains and rains and rains, and sometimes even snows (lightly, but still snow). There are bridge and overpass ice/freeze warnings, and sand trucks that try to alleviate this. Of course, this is noting in comparison to real winters/snow (like Chicago, New York, Philly, etc.), but it is also nothing like Phoenix in the winter.
When was the last time it snowed in Phoenix?

For some reason i think Dallas as one big slab of concrete. It's flat and you see concrete for as far as the eye can see.
The people are sweet - and most have a THICK accent.
It's so big - you can find a safe neighborhood in your price-range anywhere. But like most in Dallas/Ft Worth - driving is a way of life. HEB (in between Fort Worth and Dallas) is growing up and nice.
LOADS to do. It's got man-made mountain biking trails, lots of stuff downtown, and any store you could ever want.
Dallas Wx: Summer months = Wicked thunderstorms, lots of rain, lots of humidity. Winter months = 40's, rain (sometiimes freezing rain). When it rains, the roads get slick because of all the oil on the blacktop.
I think i prefer Phx, but Dallas was fine. I remember it being safe and easy to make friends.

fcorrales80 I share your enthusiasm for Phoenix. I will be the first to agree with you and say AZ is the best - but no offense - these forums are not debate boards.
Here is the URL for an Arizona centric current events debate board. It is free - non commercial.
AZ Republic Malcontents - Message Board - Yuku
Anyone here is welcome to join.

What are you talking about, this is a FORUM...a place for open discussion and ideas that some times contradict but that is the point of having an open FORUM. Debate often is part of a discussion of ideas and interests. Sorry, but public discussions and this forum are a place to share/debate/argue/etc.

Proud Texan
I mean you can carry a gun to Fry's Market Place ( think Ted Nuget), our education I mean, who here really cares. I just have always thought of AZ as more like Texas slash Nebraska. Leave us alone if you don't like it kind of place.
Ted Nugent lives in Texas....outside of Waco.
Please don't compare Texas to Nebraska...it's something that might get you shot here!

But, CD has rules to obey. This forum is really is not here to debate or argue... not at all. This forum (the city and state ones anyway) is here to ask questions about areas and to answer questions, not to debate.

Ha ha, no, I know, but if you read it again you will see I was comparing Arizona to a Nebras/Texas feel. We, in Arizona, are sort of in between. Sort of like Texas with the weather and Mexican food and sort of like Nebraska as far as people, speach, and dry environment. I hope I won't get shot for comparing Arizona to Nebraska, I guess I should of checked on this first. But your thread cracked me up. ha ha Very funny. I didn't know Ted lived in Waco? Didn't he live here in AZ for a while or is that another x rocker with a gun acting like a malitia that I'm thinking of? lol

Sorry, but I didn't read that in any rule book, I just saw that there is to be no name calling and the like. There is no rule about debating wrong information or posting differences of opinion, if that were the case, this site would cease to exist. You as a moderator knows full well that no one here posts objective information, most are downright malicious and ill-intended; therefore, they should be corrected. They have a right to post negative comments, but if they can't be debated or argued, then whats the point of this forum?
