Downtown Phoenix Tour And Progress Report
What's a better way to spend Sunday afternoon than to walk around downtown Phoenix and check out what's going on.
They took the crane down from 44 Monroe about a week earlier.

Here's some progress, looks like they are doing work on the Central Park East office building on 1st Street and Van Buren.

It's more progress than what's going on at the City Scape site.

The Copper Point site on 4th Ave & Filmore. Hopefully it'll be coming soon enough.

Could you please tell me how you get your pics to show up full size. When I post pics all I get is a thumbnail. Thanks!

Here's the tallest buildings in downtown Phoenix, the Chase Tower, which has held this title since 1972. At one point, it was the tallest building in the Rocky Mountain States.

The 3 tallest buildings in downtown Phoenix, the Chase Tower, the US Bank Tower and the new 44 Monroe tower.

The second tallest building in downtown, the US Bank Tower, it has been the second tallest since 1976. You can see an eye-sore on the left side of the picture, the Heard Building, which in my opinion, I wish they'd tear down and replace it with something new.

I cruised up Central Ave... something which I haven't done in 27 years!
Central and Columbus - The future site of Cielo Towers, if they'll ever get built.

Here's a couple of buildings I wish they'd tear down, that upside down pyramid-looking building and the former Western Savings Building on Central and Osborn. If you drive on Osborn approching Central from either direction, you'll see why I think that building is UGLY!

And what was supposed to have been the site of the 50-story Brophy Tower is still a dirt lot, and from what I saw today, it looks like it'll continue to be that way for a while longer. The advertising signs are no longer on the dirt lot, and the advertising signs on what was the sales office on the same lot, have been taken away, which doesn't surprise me.

Are you uploading the images as attachments on your City-Data's account space? If so, they'll appear as thumbnails, but they'll appear as full size images when users click on them.
If you want the images to appear in full size in your message, you'll have to upload them on your web space, or a website like Photobucket.com and you can refrence them by using the image syntax:

Gee thanks Bummer! I was going to post a picture of the Westward Ho... no I'm not talking about one of my ex-girlfriends from the past.. - It's a hotel building that was built in the mid 1920's. It was a luxury hotel from the time it opened in 1927, until it closed in 1979. It's now a housing complex for senior citizens. The sign at the entrance with the name "Westward Ho" is still there.
