Now that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Well, considering our climate, summer is not our tourist season. As soon as it cools off, the snowbirds arrive from colder climates. They stay until the temps heat up again. Cheaper hotel rates are found in the summer season. And if considering a move here, you owe it to yourself to spend some time here during summer, not just during Chamber of Commerce weather.

Of course! These places are all just suburbs of the Phoenix metro area. There are right next to each other, no open space in between. You would not know you went from one city to the next unless you noticed subtle things like the street name signs were a different color or they do the traffic lights a little different. It is all one massive suburb! And they come in to the city from further out, more rural places, too, from places like Tonopah and Wickenburg. It all depends on your tolerance for commuting.

Winter is our high season. Rates will be higher, more people in the area (snowbirds and tourists alike), longer waits at restaurants, etc. Summer is when everyone goes somewhere else if they can and the resorts publish "staycation" prices about 1/3rd of what they charge in the winter.

Ouch for me I guess...my trip to AZ this December is very very likely...

Oh well...I'll just look at my trip as a worthy reconnaissance mission. And you only live once right???

It happens in NYC because Manhattan is a small island, and NJ is no farther away than Brooklyn.

Not to mention that they have much better public transporation.

It's not remotely comparable.
