If she was going 51 in a 40 then yes it is 11 over. They have always said that it's 11 over and you get a ticket. I don't know what you're talking about 45 (IYO) as it's not your opinion that counts with the law.

I got a speeding ticket in the mail one time with a picture of my truck, so I took a picture of a $100 bill and mailed it to them!

Citations like that should not be ignored. Depending on the city/town you live in, because the next thing they'll send you might range from a warning of your license/auto registration suspension, or Sheriff Joe to pick you up and throw you in tent city!

Once I got a ticket for 6 over! Can you believe this - a ticket for doing 81 on an AZ freeway?! Not to mention I was just trying to pass a truck. Probably was gonna get away with it, but the car was a rental and I had forgotten to put the seat belt on (my car at the time had automatic seat belts...).

My blood freezes thinking about the other one, though... The cop caught me at about 20 over, but wrote only 10. It was still in CA, so must've been doing about 90. Again rental car...brand new... red... empty freeway all to myself... He was really hidden at the bottom of a steep downhill. After that ticket, I read somewhere that 20 over is considered a felony... Still not sure if this is true, but it certainly freaked me out.

Yeah, I've had only two tickets and both were gotten while driving a rental car and out of town...

My opinion was stated rather clearly I thought. However, to restate it again so that perhaps it makes more sense: do they think we are telepathic? How can you predict where the next sign is and what will be on it? You are to get to it, read it, and then respond. If you are driving the speed limit, or thereabouts, and suddenly it drops, you need to slow down to do so. How the van with radar is allowed to park DIRECTLY UNDER THE SIGN THAT CHANGED AND ASSUME THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE KNOW AT THAT MOMENT IN TIME AND HAVE SLOWED DOWN IN ADVANCE OF IT--IS WRONG. I think moving at least a block down or so to let us use our brakes isn't asking for much. This really is just a speed trap. Period. Got to make the money somehow.
