Sounds good to me! It is one of the few things I miss about home. I think it's pretty priceless to just be able to get your water out of the tap and knowing it doesn't taste too bad either. People probably think the same about Chicago with the many horror stories of what gets dumped in the lake. My favorite was during the winter time it came out ice cold! That's one thing I struggled with down in Scottsdale. My water was always lukewarm. You had the opposite problem there, the water being warm and waiting for it to cool. To the OP, and pretty much everyone down there, has anywhere in the Valley water been decent without having to add anything? I've never used the filters or any systems like that.

if you read the reviews, the permeate pumps wear out after several years - its a standard "aero" brand pump that is available on ebay for pretty cheap & having it makes the system work way better - mine is working fine after 4 years & when it dies, I'll just buy another.. having good tasting water available is worth it. you do need a small hole for the faucet, most landlords wont care since most *tenants* want an ro system.

just be careful with any "cheap" solution - there isnt a good cheap solution - if you dont like the water, you'll end up drinking bottled beverages, getting an ro, or paying for water delivery, an ro is probably the least expensive of those options.

You could look into water delivery. I see Sparkletts trucks around a lot and it looks like they have several different options: purified bottled water, spring water, distilled, etc. I don't know how much it would cost though, depends how much you need and which options you choose.

Why would they tell you that when it isn't. Yes there is about 0.2ppm to 0.6ppm of Fluoride present from naturally dissolved deposits in the ground, but the water is not fluoridated. They probably told you fluoride was present, but they never said it was fluoridated.

OK, the woman on the phone did indeed say it is fluoridated. She didn't know, so she asked her supervisor. I will definitely call again tomorrow. No fluoridation would make finding a good filter a heck of a lot easier!

According to Epcor's own report from 2012 http://www.epcor.com/water/wq/wq-anthem-2012.pdf (pages 14-15) the fluoride in the Anthem water from Epcor is naturally occurring, not added.

Thank you; it states .4 level which is not bad; we had .2 in CA. Armed with the correct info, I'll just try a simple Pur filter first and see if that works [over the Brita]; if not, I'll have to upgrade to something like the Zen or Burkey.
