nope the guy I'm speaking of is younger, always wears an orange hoodie and stands while he shouts. his catch phrase is "what's up with that noise?"

NPR just ran an article about a study of the Most/Least Bible-minded cities.

Phoenix ranked #8 in Least Bible-minded.

America's most and least Biblically-Minded Cities
I do not accept this poll as being accurate the cities that are Bible minded have a conservative majority and the less Bible minded have a liberal, progressive mindset. Maybe downtown Phoenix is liberal but Arizona in general is not, look at the Sheriff Joe and the solid Republican House and Senate. There is no way Phoenix should be in the same box as San Fran, that is crazy.

You're confusing socially conservative with libertarian. AZ is far more libertarian and cannot be compared politically to bible-belt southern states.

Well not every ideology or political belief fits into one box either. Being conservative doesn't always have to be intrinsically connected to socially conservative and religious mindsets, it's not really that black and white. That's what I like about Arizona, it can be conservative and still think outside the box.

The Valley is not very religious. When I lived in Kansas City I found that a lot more people, even younger people from teens all the way up through late 30's, were church goers.

Honestly, I think Phoenix has a good balance. It's not overtly religious nor is it anti-religious.

Other than a pretty strong Mormon influence in the SE Valley (Mesa & Gilbert), the Phoenix metro area really isn't very religious. I think a lot of it has to do with our high transient population, and how many people from different cultures live here. We're a long way from the Bible Belt where church and religion seem to be a ways of life. I'm glad we're not anything like the Bible Belt. Being conservative is fine, but social/religious conservatives are too meddling ... and somehow, their meddling often ends up in government in the form of many idiotic laws that restrict people's freedoms.

Look at the least Bible minded cities on the list, they almost have far left solid Democratic majorities in their states not so with Arizona. No way is Arizona like San Francisco which is what this inaccurate poll would have you believe. Notice that the creator of the poll is NPR which has become so far left they have become worthless to listen to.

SF is liberal and we are mainly a libertarian culture. Neither are very religious groups as a rule. It makes perfect sense.
