Extended Stay Hotels (Scottsdale, Tempe: homes, live, shops)

I think I have seen a thread on here before about extended stay hotels, but I just finished looking online and actually saw some extended stay hotels, one was in Scottsdale, cant remember where the other one was for $399 up to $599 for two months...this seems pretty low...does that sound right to you all that live there, or am I reading this wrong on the website? Thanks!

Be REALLY careful. There is an Extended Stay hotel down in south Scottsdale that is a real dive! We booked a room there once, thinking it was part of the real Extended Stay Hotel chain. This particular hotel is located in an area of town with pawn shops, etc. We knew we were in trouble when pulled in and there were bars on the windows. Anyway, we got our room, opened the door and took one look (and one smell ) and turned around to get our money back. It was really BAD! Turns out, there was a whole line of people in front of us getting their money back, too.

Anyway, this hotel had 4 stars on the travel website. I reported it as false advertising (that was about a year ago) and it's still showing up with an excellent rating.

That does seem very low. I always saw them advertised for about $800/month. I also find many of them as dives. The key is to get one in a good area. If you have locations of them post them so we can give ya a thumbs up or down.

We stayed at Homestead Suites in Tempe and their corporate rate was about $50 per night. It wasn't very nice, but it was okay. We had stayed at a Homewood (I think that's what it is called) back in July and it was much nicer. We had a large dog with us and it limited where we could stay.
