I was reading some old posts about south Tempe - there was some discussion about Alta Mira versus Warner Ranch - the consensus seemed to be that Warner Ranch as the nicer area - this was in 2008. Do people still think that holds true? From Great Schools, it looks like the schools for Alta Mira are rated higher.

There's a house that backs McClintock that I'm interested in - is it too busy of a road.

I'm not in Arizona right now and will be relocating in the summer. Appreciate your advice, thanks.

I live about a mile from Alta Mira. Warner Ranch is larger and has more of a planned community feel than Alta Mira, but there's really no place to go wrong in south Tempe. I live between McClintock and the 101 freeway. Inside my house, I don't hear anything in terms of traffic noise, but outside, at night, I hear the traffic from the freeway. I would imagine you'd get some traffic noise, but it might be tolerable... there are busier roads than that far south part of McClintock.
