Cumulus clouds off to the distant south, east and west. Just as I said this morning. Please stop with the 20% chance of rain caca by the weathercasters on tv. At best, scattered dust over the SE Valley for the next few days. Looking forward to rain in Valle to calm the annoyance of no rain in The Valley. I have seen rain exactly one day since December. March 1st. 4 months is enough so Valle to the rescue !!

Aw, you're so lucky. That weather forecaster I posted said it was monsoonal weather so your hutches are correct my friend.
I'm looking out my window and I see the build up right now. I'm hopping it comes through with a bang. I saw rain in Tucson, up by you, and out toward NM, and it looks like it's all headed to Phoenix on the radar so hopefully it will dampen us as well. Fingers crossed.

This radar will only last through today but I wanted to share it.

I hate when they deflate over the valley and we just get swampy.

I'm trying to figure out what the dewpoint is so we can get this monsoon started!

What's the best website to use for weather?

Three days of 50 plus dewpoint temperature is the meteorological definition for the beginning of monsoons. Getting dust warnings on the cell for areas well south and that is all the PHX area will get for the foreseeable future as stated before. Tucson was down to 84 degrees after some rain. Problem is besides the Urban Heat Island, Phoenix is in a valley where elevations are higher north south and east. When moisture descends it dries from the S,E and N and that is another barrier in the Monsoon tease. Superior and Tucson both average 16-20 inches a year and a good chunk of that comes from the summer monsoons. Because they have nearby mountains that generate "uplift", it drops the precipitation in those parts.

I recommend weather.gov

Just input your zip code and it gives you pretty good info on your area specifically directly from The National Weather Service. Far more detailed than Weather Channel's weather.com

^^ This. It's a tease. The live área cams are showing a huge wall of dust approach and overtake the area. Dry lightning, wind and dust does not a monsoon make. I'm waiting for RAIN!!

The 202 at Lone Butte Casino only allows in dust. It shields the rain and keeps it over the reservation immediately south.

Um, we've got some sprinkles! I'm afraid Magnum will be right with the "no measurable rain" Maybe later on tonight.

But, we got dust, and a beautiful show of lightning, just enough to set fire to the entire state.

I'll go out back and do the dance again. lol
