Default South East Mesa

Hi, we are relocating to Phoeniz at the begining of the year. We've found a few really nice houses in South East Mesa, just on the border of Gilbert. Is this a good area of town to live in?

I know some of Mesa is less than desirable, but this area seems pretty nice. Thoughts?

If you know the cross streets that would help a little. I'm not that far south (just north of US60), but less than a mile from Apache Junction. We love it out here. It's close to everything we need shopping and entertainment wise. We have a view of the Superstitions and Four Peaks from our back yard. Most of the crime out this way is property related. The bad areas of Mesa are primarily west/central.

We lived in Gilbert and the only thing it had over Mesa was more expensive housing and better parks.

Here is a crime link, you can check your zipcode. Some areas are spotty.

You'll want to drive through the areas to see them first hand before making a decision to buy.

You can use Google Earth and get a little feel for the neighborhoods, but it still isn't as good as seeing it.

Get with a good agent when you get here; one who will determine your exact needs, then help you choose an area, and then zero in on a home in the area. They can also help you with a new home if you decide to have a new build.

One thing you'll want to consider is where you will be working, and what schools you wish your children to attend.

Bill
