IMO, the best thing about Phoenix is the beautiful state and region of the country where it is located and the fact that there is so much of the great outdoors available and accessible as public land. Combined with the year-round decent weather, AZ living is hard to beat for those who like to camp, hike, trail ride etc. PHX will never be like a big eastern city by any stretch and I am grateful for that.
And I also agree. Ive seen one too many Chicagoans move to PHX only to get there and say "WTF" and then come back. Whats sad is that I know many personally. I tried to tell them, but noooooooo.

Well put! I have been wondering this too.

Sunsets! This has to be the most aburd way to compare two cities. Not to mention the fact that Phoenix's sunsets blow Chicago's out of the water!

Oh thats, uh, brilliant stuff right there. You call it "absurd", I mean, "aburd" (), then you compare them yourself. LOL

Don't you ever just go away?! No one forces you to come here! I feel for you though, bud. I have to admit that Chicago looks pretty bad today with all the slush, drizzle, rain, dirty snow, ice, and sleet. Everyone you see has a sinus infection and is sounds like they are 'hacking' up a lung. Not very pleasent at all. Maybe you come here in hopes that you were in Arizona where the weather is perfect today. That's why your here right?

Oh, it may have sounded like I compared Phoenix sunsets to Chicago, but that isn't just my opinion, that is FACT!

One of the things I noticed from my vantage point in the east valley is how clear the air became after our rains a few weeks ago. Prior to that, I could barely see the Superstitions, but in the days following the rains they appeared so clear and close it was as if you could almost touch them! Of course by now, unfortunately, the brown cloud has reappeared and is starting the cover them up again.

The skies the last few days have been perfectly clear and sunny. Today is overcast, whoop-de-do. Some peoples' lives wont end when that happens, you know. And speaking of sinus problems, look no further than Valley residents.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure that we live in the same Chicagoland. Everyday this week has been hazy and miserable. I'm not sure what part of Chicagoland you live in, but the area isn't big enough for the sky to look different in another part. Again, don't act like you live in the suburbs when you obviously don't.

"And speaking of sinus problems, look no further than Valley residents."

What is that supposed to mean? Thousands move to Arizona every year to escape the ills that they face in other places. You don't see people moving to Chicago to find the same.

Hey! Here is a grand idea! How about answering the question that everyone in the Phoenix area forum wants to know. Ready! Here it is again!

Why do you spend so much time posting about a place that:

a) you don't live in
b) you don't like
c) obviously have limited knowledge of
d) and can't create a reasonable argument that isn't degrading

I can post about both because I have lived in one for over twenty years, and now am in a student in the middle of the other. If you don't live in either how can you make any kind of statement!

Nice pics! However, I don't think that the good people of the Arizona forum care what the weather is like in po-dunk Warrenville, Illinois! My family lives in Lake Barrington, you know, where I'm staying right now, and it hasn't looked like that the entire time I have been here! We even went up into Wisconsin earlier this week and between our home and the Wisconsin border it all looked like the same gloomy mess that is Chicago. But hey, with all that pollution that is a result of the Naperville congestion, I would imagine it affects that weather around it. MMMM...! Healthy!

Those pics weren't good enough for me to forget about those questions we have asked you! How about it!? Maybe by the fiftieth time we ask we will get some results.
