Curious as to what the natural temp of pools are this year without heating. Mine right now is about 89-90 for a 9,000 gallon pool that gets full sun from about 10:00am to sunset. I actually like it right at that temp, I haven't had to heat it in weeks to get it up to that temp. Anybody's pool hotter than that right now, does anyone do anything to cool there pool off if they like it cooler. Not sure how you would do that without draining some water and putting in new water or dumping a couple hundred pounds of ice in it.

Ours is 90. I like it that way too--feels warm to step into (not refreshing, I guess, but comfortable) so I can take a quick dip and then get out and cool off as the water evaporates. I love it. For the kids to play in, though, it is hotter than they would prefer in this heat. The aerator and waterfall actually do help cool the water down a bit, but I don't think it's worth it for the small difference in temperature to run the pump all the time like that.

You are heating your pool in the summer? I have heard it all now.

Mine was 90 today and felt great.

Montanama, leave the aerator on over night while the filter is running and it will cool it down overnight.

Like I said, I like it around 90, I haven't had to heat it since early June. Up until then all I had to do is heat it for an hour or so before I use it to bring it up a few degrees to get there.

My hot tub spills over into the pool for about 5 hours each night but that doesn't seem to cool it any.

Mine was 87 yesterday. I've been running the aerator a few times a week and its been bringing it down nicely. My pool gets full sun all day as it's on the southwest corner of the yard.

87 for 20k gallon. on the west side with full sun. It's a diving pool so stays cooler. I have a cooler but haven't had to use it this year.

I just looked at the temps for the upcoming week and pool should be back in the 90's rather quickly with 110+ temps. Dang.
