I know everybody's in a different situation, but does most everyone here have at least 100/300? The mandatory minimum is really low at 15/30. Are there a lot of uninsured and underinsured drivers in AZ as compared to the rest of the country?

Right now I have 100/300 and same for uninsured/underinsured motorists in NY. Thinking about bumping it up once I make it to AZ in September.

I don't know if there's "a lot compared to the rest of the country" but I can tell you to keep in mind where AZ is located and who's driving around here regularly.
1 million umbrella policy works for us given the insane lawsuits that are filed/payed.

Exactly, I have the same. I wouldn't think of going without it here. There are so many uninsured drivers here. I'm a safe driver so I'm not worried about harming someone else. I am worried about an uninsured driver hitting me and then I would be SOL.

When I was young and didn't own much so I had very little to lose I went with the min 15/30 now that i'm have a good job and a lot to lose we have 100k/300k. As they say you can never have too much insurance if you can afford the premiums why not more protection. One thing I wonder is if you get into a collision and someone dies lets say you were speeding or ran a red light I doubt the other party would go after everything you own plus there are ways to protect assists from judgement using a trust just easier to settle out of court for the amount of the policy. Now if you have deeper pockets and an attorney smells money they might want more. The more money you have to lose the more you want to be protected just common sense.

From my experience after an accident my daughter had years ago, not her fault, but were sued anyway, they go for the amount of insurance you have. So my take is, the more insurance you have the more you get sued. They also sue because the insurances will settle even if it is not your fault, just because it is cheaper than going to court. In our case they refused what the insurance wanted to settle for and we went to court and they lost big time. When they realized they are going to lose they wanted to settle, but the insurance told them that it's too late they already spend the money for the depositions.
