You have Cox, I have NFL ticket... Sometimes you make trade offs for what you want

Sometimes, but pretty rare, extremely dense storms pass over one of the up link facilities, and that can affect everyone. Now on the downlink, the customer's location, DirecTV's HD sat fleet is more susceptible to "rain fade" or very intense cells because they are using the Ka band for HD. The DBS band (Ku) used by Dish is less affected than the Ka.

Cox has RedZone so you don't have to watch all the boring parts, just the exciting ones ;-)

There is a reason you see dish network sat dishes in camps for relief workers, with a dish, receiver, tv and generator, you can have HBO anywhere.
It has to be raining hard south of me to knock out the signal, and then it is only for a couple on minutes on average.

Touché. Now if only I could figure out why I need Sunday ticket for 17 weeks a year I might think about switching. So far I don't see any reason why though. Fox/CBS games works for me.

If you were a fan of a real NFL team you would understand.

As soon as the NFL ditches direct tv so do I.

Yeah the Broncos, but a real football fan goes to a bar to watch all the games ;-)

DirectTV's broadcast center is in Castle Rock, CO with a backup in LA, each major city also has a uplink that send local TV stations to DirectTV. Dish Network is also headquartered near Castle Rock but their dish farm is in Cheyenne, WY

To each his own. I've got the Pac 12 network and you don't.

Yeah I would much rather go somewhere like Four Peaks to watch the games. I can practically taste their breakfast beer bread. Can't wait.
