I pray all made it through safe with minimal property damage. Extensive flooding took place throughout the valley. That storm was absolutely insane! It looks like a hurricane hit, flooding wise. This town can't handle much rain and that was put to an extreme. I'm pretty sure this whole valley is one big flood zone regardless of how it's designated. On the bright side, repair work needed from all the damage will stimulate the economy.

As for these submerged cars, like on I-17, does one's car insurance cover the loss, if the car is deemed inoperative? Just curious!

That's the key here, when put to an extreme. We are due for our 100 year flood...

I come from an area that floods every 7 years, this isn't flooding to me, this is just a lot of rain. I know that sounds weird, but that's the only way I can describe it.

That's a kind of scary thought to me. I'm from San Diego. We don't really get floods, but fires on the other hand. I did go through a cat 3 hurricane on the gulf coast once. This event had very similar flooding as far as I saw but much less wind damage.

Yes, if you have comprehensive coverage included on your policy. Sometimes these cars are repaired and sold. Buyer beware!

Aw, yes, I feel so sorry for those people flooded out still in Mesa. Still knee deep water throughout that area, and the homes are old to begin with.

Another potential hurricane is coming up the Pacific and I hope we don't pull it's moisture into our state for a round 2 of the mega moisture in the desert event next weekend.
