I'm going to have some brunches out, and I'm generally looking for nice places, preferably in central Scottsdale, although farther north or west would be all right, preferably fairly inexpensive and also quiet (because a couple of these people are hard of hearing).

But apart from "nicer" places, I was just wondering - does anyone have any opinions on the two chains, U.S. Egg and Good Egg?

I've been to The Good Egg, specifically the one on North Hayden in Scottsdale. Best egg salad I have ever had.

They have a punch card and you get double punches on Mondays!

I like both. US Egg had just the one location on Baseline in Tempe for years, crazy crowded, line out the door on the weekends. Now they have branched out a little. Along with the usual dishes, they have these healthy pancakes (I forget what they call them) that are really good.

The Good Egg was recently purchased by First Watch. Good Egg has 15 Phoenix area locations and 5 more in Southern Arizona. First Watch is a national chain with 3 locations in the Valley.

Over Easy in North Scottsdale. It was featured on Guy Fieri's show.

For brunch, i think good egg has the edge - they do a killer sandwich. But us egg isn't bad by any means.

Good Egg is disgusting. Go to U.S. Egg.

u.s. egg hands down. the quality is sooo much better, along with better service. As a side note, one of the good egg locations failed health inspection recently and was one of only ten restaurants to do so in the entire valley. gross.
