I have a pool with auto-fil, 13 trees, and 100 plantings. Highest bill for the summer was $60 (about 10k gals). It was a good summer for rain.

You have cheap water. Enjoy it as long as it lasts. Since January 1, 2014 the cost of our water is double from what it was before.

From 7/21/14 to 8/21/14 : 26000 gallons - cost : 215.92$ - Last year : 25000 gallons at 149.13$
From 6/19/14 to 7/21/14 : 31000 gallons - cost : 271.86$

We have a big yard with lots of plants. No grass and no pool.

28,000 gallons in a month?

That's a lot of water my friend. I used 10k gallons in august (my 9/5 bill) and I have grass, trees, palms, plants, auto fill pool and a family with kids at home. Bill was $30.66.

No grass and no pool and you're using 31k gallons in a month? You're over watering something.

2K-5K gallons a month. No grass or pool. Tons of plants but mostly low water use variety.

Shessh I didn't think we were using that much compared to everyone else! Wow. And we're only a 2 person household! Now I'm wondering how the heck?

I would say with the huge jump in usage that his pool has probably sprung a leak.
