Dealer tints are usually good quality in my experience. Maybe not the top of the line, but not cheep stuff either. Before you plop down more cash, be sure that you are getting an upgrade that is actually worth it. Although it helps, no tint will "keep out the heat" here. The sun in summer is simply brutal. I find the most useful thing about tint is that it cuts the brightness factor, the glare in the car.

I say save your money. I've had a car with tinted windows and without and wouldn't get a tint again. Accepting the fact that cars get hot inside in our climate, especially in the summer, with or without a tint, is the reality of it all. Wearing sunglasses, lowering the windows fully/cranking the A/C for a few minutes when you 1st get in the car is another low maintenance/low cost solution. If it's a style/look thing your after, then that's another thing.
