Where did you get that from? So far as I know, Albertson's stopped doing that a while back and Fry's and Bashas's are the first Wednesday of the month. Here is a more accurate list: Senior Discount Days at Retail Stores in Phoenix

I tried Fry's one time to get my geezer discount. Boy was it more trouble than it was worth. I would have paid ten percent EXTRA just to avoid having to dodge all the motorized carts and slowpokes blocking the aisles trying to remember what it was they were looking for.
They wouldn't give me the 10 percent off my beer either. GOSH!!!

Otherwise known as "Days to Avoid Shopping" at these places. Made the mistake of hitting Fry's on the first Wednesday of the month (used to be their discount day) and you would have thought the apocolypse was coming and shopping was the only thing that would save you.

Please limit this thread to discussing discounts that are Phoenix specific, that people might not know about. The large chains' discounts are well publicized online; there's a list that ends up in my email once in awhile.

I'm just now moving to the area, so I appreciate hearing about the chains too. I looked at Fry's site and they don't advertise any discount, so I am glad someone mentioned it.

Aren't you going overboard here ? We have been many times to Fry's on the first Wednesday of the month and it has never been the way you depict it. We did not buy beer, they don't have the one I like. But we have never seen motorized carts blocking the aisles. And the day I will see them I will be glad I don't need one of those. And maybe the day you are on a fixed income you will appreciate the 10% discount. For now be glad that you can pay 10% extra just not to have to shop on that day. Some people are not as lucky as you are.

We look forward to the first Wednesday 10% discount at Frys, each month. We get there early, to beat the rush. We are patient with others. DQ has 5-10% senior discount. Dennys has 10% discount, too. We try to patronize the ones who are offering discounts. Every little bit helps to stretch our dollars.

Savers Thrift Stores, 30% off everything every Wednesday.

Goodwill, 25% off on Tuesdays (but I think senior might be over 60 with GW)
