I have tickets to an upcoming sporting event that I am unable to attend and was wondering where is the best place either physical location or online to sell them?

Ebay.

Craigslist. Free and zero commissions.

I have season tix for the Cards and sell my tickets for the games I can't attend on Craigslist. I've met some great people who usually end up repeatedly buying from me or referring friends too. I think Stub Hub has a 15% commission charge.

If you are a season ticket holder, you should sell them on your teams' ticket exchange. I found that is a much faster way to sell tickets. You often will not get money but credit which you can use to renew your season tickets.

There is no commission on Craig's list but there are no protections in place either. Craigslist may not be a bad place to sell tickets but I sure as hell would never buy tickets from Craigslist. I know way too many people who bought counterfeit tickets from Craigslist.

I've used ebay several times and it has always worked out great. Have not used craigslist just because I don't want to meet strangers in person.

Craigslist. Just don't be an idiot and meet someone on a dark, desolate corner at midnight. Meet in a public place and you'll be fine.

I've purchased tickets on eBay for a Coyotes game. Someone sold season tickets to a day they could not attend, as someone said. It was nice because I was provided with a link to print my ticket once I paid; not meeting anyone anywhere. Worked out great!

If I were looking to buy that is where I would look before CL

eBay is not bad because you can ultimately purchase the item through a credit card linked to your Paypal. So if someone commits fraud and sells you a fake ticket, you can get reimbursed. One time I didn't receive an item that I purchased. I called Amex and informed them of this and they covered the amount.
