Shoot, I don't remember, what kind of tires I had on my 1982 Mustang GT. That was over 30 years ago. I only know my dad helped choose the proper ones for his only daughter based on a lifetime of living in the Chicago area. I also know that was the only car I ever owned that had this kind of trouble. Giant sized engine, rear wheel drive, and no weight over the back end. It was trouble.

I drove a Firebird for ten years in a hilly town that got lots of snow. It taught me to be a really good winter driver but the rear wheel drive coupled with the low, front heavy body made it difficult regardless of tires or sand tubes. I would often back up hills if going forward didn't work.

32+ years ago and you can't confirm that they were in fact snow tires. I'm not sure that experience is relevant. A modern car with modern snow tires will do just fine regardless of the drive wheels.

No, it doesnt help. My friend couldnt even get up his driveway at times, and this was with Blizzaks! And your torqueless 370Z is quite a bit different than a Mustang in winter. My friends' Mustang was so torquey that the tires would rotate slowly while he was standing still, if the slightest pressure was let up off the brake pedal in the snow. Bags, snow tires, etc, help slightly, but not enough to overcome most winter conditions.

Sorry - I'll keep this brief, but since the question was asked, I CAN confirm I had snow tires, but not the type. Not fine.

Good grief! What is with this weather? OK, so I understand a day here, a day there with cold temperatures, but a week of 50s? And maybe rain south/blizzard north by New Years Day. People. Move to Florida. Phoenix is too hot in summer and too cold in winter.

It sucks! Yeah - we put up with the big heat & monsoons - the haboobs really suck too. And so - this is our reward? A day or two - even 3, but hey, this cold is supposed to get worse & linger on and on for - well, no end in sight. Even though our avg daily high is going up a little from now on. We hit bottom at 65 and 66 is avg beginning in a couple of days.

Remember last year? Jan & Feb were avg in the low to mid 70's.. lets hope for a rerun.

I think possibly Kailua Kona or Aruba would be nice. Especially Aruba, it looks perfect. Seems to stay around the 90's and dry, kind of a perfect Phoenix day! All the time

If only we could be in the 50's all year! That would be great weather.
