0.75" here so far and looks like more to come! It's been raining non stop since around 1am, so it's that nice slow rain that soaks the earth.

0.76" here now. LOL. Yeah, this is a welcome surprise. Gonna need the Roundup, though. The weeds will be out in a few days. If if keeps coming through the winter, maybe we will have a good wildflower season. It's been a while since I have seen the poppies all over the side of the mountains.

Oh yea!

I can't believe we've had 12.96" of rain on the year! That's crazy for Phoenix, isn't it?

I love the cool temps and the rain, but the humidity sucked last night. My steering wheel felt sticky and gummy it was so humid. But, bring on the rain! Just hoping our condo doesnt flood again. grrrr

Two and a half years in (can you believe that already?) I like that after-the-rain smell, but I must admit the first week we were here it rained a bit on the 4th of July and I also thought it smelled like something was burning. Now, that's up here in Anthem. I don't think I've yet been downtown when it's rained....but then again, have you ever smelled the NYC or Philly subway when it's wet? I have...

Most Arizonans look for clouds & rain, and if we get none, we may be a bit irritable. If we receive enough rain, we'll praise the moisture, but some of us may still be a bit irritable over desert aromas. If we get too much rain, we may be discussing Arizona's Stupid Motorist Law.

Welcome to Arizona!

I like it if it's the bush that stinks but I don't if it's the dust. I'll just think of it as bush

I LOVE the smell in the desert after the rain. It's the smell of the desert coming alive. It's creosote, mesquite, cacti, all the evergreens... all of it. It's the smell of life awakening after hot dry summers, of the wild daisies poking their heads up after hibernating. Each wild area has its own smell after rain. Hawaii has it's own undergrowth smell as well. It's all good IMHO
