Garage sale
Hi, Just relocated to the Gilbert/ Chandler area and would like to know how you find yard sales each week. Where we moved from we had a "pennysaver" which you could advertise garage sales as well as ads for other items to buy and sell. It was delivered to our house every week.
I have yet to find anything like that here, yet see signs people post when i drive around.
I did find the Greensheet, but nothing was advertised for local garage sales.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

I go on craigslist and search "yard sale" or "garage sale"....you will be able to see there were many posted for today. I usually wake up and check them to see whats in my area and then head out on the town.

I remember the pennysaver, do we still have that anywhere? Many areas have the "Independent". Where I used to live it was called the NE Independent, the name was different depending on where you lived.
Craigslist is a great option. But, I would just drive around, especially in good neighborhoods. Also, usually the different communities have their "community garage sale", so I would look out for those for sure. I know we have them twice a year, I think fall and spring.

Check the local paper
Have you checked the classified ads in The Arizona Republic or its online version at azcentral.com? They always have a lot of garage sale and estate sale ads listed there. The online version is also searchable for key words and zip codes.

On the home page, look on the menu on the left side of the page. There is a classified ads icon - click on "stuff" within the classified ads icon. This will take you to the classified ads page. From there, look in the blue box in the middle of the page. The options are all in alphabetical order. Look for "Garage Sales" and click on the text. Have fun shopping.

Yard Sale Finds
We moved here 1 year ago and most of our home is furnished from Garage Sale / Moving Sale finds. We just drive around and look for the signs. At first I was getting the paper but when you do not know your way around it is hard. so that is when we just started looking for signs, which also helped to learn the streets and directions around town.

Help with Garage Sale
I lost my job on Jan 20th & this is my 6th layoff in 7 years. All were due to downsizing, or companies being sold or taken over. I have no severance, so savings & drained my IRA during last layoff.
I need to have a garage sale & soon, but am looking for someone or a couple people to help me put it together. I have a R shoulder injury from a woman rear-ending me over a year ago which prevents me from lifting anything over 5 lbs. This makes it most difficult to try to move tables around, or lift any heavy items for the sale.
I can pay whoever assists 10% of proceeds & the plan is to sell most everything in the house (except TV & computer), as I will have to relocate soon with pending foreclosure.
I appreciate any ideas or resources anyone may know of.
Thanks!
