Hello!

I'm single female in my Mid-Twenties relocating to Phoenix for a new job position. I currently reside in NJ so this is a big change for me. I've done some research and am becoming worried about finding the right location. I plan on traveling out before my move to look around but would like to zero in on some options first.

So... I will be working in North Tempe. My budget will be about $900 a month. Looking for an apartment in a safe area but also in an area that caters to others my age and not just college students. I understand that Phoenix is sprawling so it won't have downtowns that I am used to in NJ but I would like to be close to shopping, bars and restaurants. Any thoughts welcome, thanks!

sounds like Tempe would actually be a good area for you. You're the target demo there...

Tons of apartments are being built in south/central Scottsdale right now, both are good areas for twenty somethings.

Tempe's probably the best fit unless you're truly looking to avoid the college crowd (mid twenties is probably close enough, unless you're actually like 28).

Scottsdale is great, but a little pricier than 900/month. If you didn't want to go Tempe, then I'd consider mid-downtown Phoenix. That's where the mid twenties/early 30's crowd is.
