I don't see a lot of talk about Mesa. It seems to have a decent amount of jobs and it's close to a major city.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it? How is the crime? Is it safe? How is the weather there most of the time?

Default Mesa

I have not yet moved to AZ ... will be later this year ... but I have been watching the news for the area and Mesa is the one that keeps popping up as trouble. I am sure crime happens everywhere, but Mesa has daily bad stuff it seems.

Here you can get the crime statistics by district in Mesa.

Mesa Police Department COMPSTAT - Mesa Arizona

Mesa has a great Mesa Arts Center, and some neat shops in that area. We go to the Arts Center often for plays, musical events, etc.

The areas in east Mesa and south east Mesa are more suburban areas and the crime statistics show that these areas have less crime than the central area.

My daughter lives in southeast Mesa in the Ellsworth/Elliot vicinity.

Every city has crime everyday. Mesa is no different. We live less than a mile from the Apache Junction city limits just north of US60 and have a great view of the Superstitions and Four Peaks. There is very little crime in my neighborhood. The only times I was a victim was before I retired. Twice in six years here someone tossed an egg or shot a window in my patrol car with a BB gun. But that happened when we lived in Gilbert and also in Chandler.

Use the link provided by Capt. Bill for crime stats in specific areas. Mesa is no different than other major cities in the valley in that you can't generalize about crime. It's a huge city. There are some extremely safe areas and some that aren't. His daughter lives in a nice area, close to a large mall and restaurants as do we.

The weather on the other hand, you can generalize. If it's 95 degrees in Buckeye sixty miles away, it's going to be pretty close to 95 in Mesa also.
