Hi, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on how to get the city of Peoria to trim its trees. My mother lives near 67th ave and cactus, and along 67th avenue there are areas of trees, which I assume are on city property since they are not in anyone's yard. One in particular hangs several feet over into her back yard, and causes all kinds of mess not to mention the eyesore. I remember years ago I had put in a request calling a number for the city, but she said no one ever came until a year or so later when they did others in the area as well. I have checked the city's web site and the forums here and haven't really found anything on where I could submit a request.

The scorpions in this area are VERY bad, and summer is coming. All the dead foliage from the tree just makes breeding grounds for bugs which are the food source for the scorpions.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Has she simply called the city to ask nicely if they could trim the branch that's overhanging on her property? A call to the general city # should be able to route you to the proper area who does the trimming work.

But, my understanding of the general law is that your mom is responsible for trimming any overgrowth of trees or shrubs that cross over to her property, even when the plant is not growing on her property.

Call City of Peoria Public Works Dept. Here's their website with phone numbers to call. They should be able to help you solve your concerns and/or guide you to who can help you.
