I drink wine quite often but really don't understand the differences between wine's. Are their any classes for beginners?

Total Wine always has tastings on the weekends, its nice if you aren't sure what you want.

AJ's also does them from time to time.

Total Wine also has classes you can sign up for (in addition to their wine tastings). They also have Beer, Whiskey, and Scotch classes. Magnum's Cigars Wine & Liquor occasionally has classes but customers are allowed to smoke cigars inside so keep that in mind.

Total Wine is a good option, their classes can be solid

Could also visit an AZ winery and learn there as well

I must thank you for this outstanding idea. My wife and I have been trying to meet intelligent people and wine tastings or classes might offer us a magnificent opportunity. Thank you kindly.

Just a little north of Phoenix there are a ton of options. See map: https://www.arizonawine.org/resource...ur01-29-15.pdf

The lead singer from the rock band Tool and a Perfect Circle has a winery there, Caduceus Cellars, some of the best wine I have had. The ones on the map are close enough together were you can do quite a few in the same day.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of wine grown here.

I work for one of the wineries on the list linked above. We get people in our tasting room all the time from the valley who are amazed at the variety and quality of Verde Valley wine. Many do one day trips, but it would take a long weekend to visit all the tasting rooms here. In any easy drive one day trip you can visit two or three wineries and still get home by dinner time. Old Town Cottonwood has half a dozen tasting rooms in walking distance of two boutique hotels and at least three very good restaurant options. Some of the wineries offer Groupon, Living Social and Amazon discounts. Everybody and his uncle is offering wine tours where you don't have to drive. Some are driver only but a few have knowledgeable escorts who will help educate you.
There's still some wine left, come on up!

I was there (Cottonwood/Jerome/Sedona) about two weeks ago. Jerome and Old Town Cottonwood are great alternatives to Sedona. Old town Cottonwood also has rum tasting which is distilled in Kingman (Desert Diamond Distillery). That Brewery in Cottonwood is also good.
