Can you share the monthly cost of heating your pool during the winter months? Thanks -

Heat pumps only work when air temp is above 50 roughly. If you want to keep temp all winter in pool I would suggest you leave cover and heater on all winter. If you let temp fall and try to get it back it will take days to get it back to swimming temp in Jan and Feb. You will also want to increase pump running time to allow heat pump to work longer if needed. I have very little trouble keeping my pool at 80 or more all winter.

If I was building a new pool personally I would ensure pool was rectangular and put a power cover on pool. I found the roll up bubble wrap cover left a lot of crap in pool when rolling up and was always a pain to get on and off the pool. And if I planned to use pool for actual swimming I would stretch it out and make it more narrow. Mine is 50 X 12 and works very well for laps.

Really hard to get an exact cost but it seems to cost me about $100 a month with a heat pump.
