Smitty's, which was bought by Fred Meyer (which had merged with Smith's in 1997) in 1999, http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/s....html?page=all and then Kroger (Fry's, in AZ) bought out Fred Meyer. For a while, grocery stores were like banks around here in terms of changing ownership/names.
