I can remember riding my motorcycle at lunch that day. You could feel the heat rising off the concrete.

The a/c wasn't cooling down the house enough, and even after I got out of the shower, I felt sick. My hubby and son were out of town, but hubby told me to water down the house with the hose, and it really helped. The block sucked up that water like mad. I was OK the day before at 119, but just those 3 degrees threw me over.

Funny: About 3 years ago, I was on the freeway near UOP Stadium. The thermometer in my Jeep read 125. I guess you just kind of get used to it...unfortunately.

I was in Scottsdale at the time. They didn't bother me, because I was inside in the air conditioning, but when it came time to take my dog for a walk, he went about 3 feet wanted to go back home. It was too hot for him.

Well I hadn't moved here yet. But that day a couple years ago that hit 118, I was out and about town. Being new to Phoenix, I think I was just marveling at such intense dry heat.

I was in 7th grade and I'm pretty sure I was indoors with brief trips outside to hit the pool.

I doubt there are very many on this forum -- or in general, for that matter -- who can recount that day, since the vast majority of people currently living in Phoenix weren't living there in 1990, not to mention many who were living there at that time have long since moved on.

I was here. Just another day at work and a hot commute home. I didn't know about the record temperature until I got home and heard about it.
