This thread is a perfect example of why there are issues on the roadways. Different opinions and interpretations of the laws translate into different drivings styles which in turn leads to congestion, road rage, and stupid forum posts.

But I got into the left lane to get around somebody going slower than I was. I don't get to do that because somebody else wants to go even faster?

You have the right to do whatever you want.

Your scenario reminds me of truckers on I-10 between here and LA. It's a 2 lane freeway, speed limit is 75, left lane traffic is flowing at 85-90. One trucker has the cruise control at 71 and is behind another trucker going 70, so he has to pass no matter that there are cars coming up going 85-90, and decides to get over and takes 3 minutes to pass the truck all the while holding up the flow of traffic and now 2 dozen cars are jammed together waiting for the selfish trucker that could have either passed quicker or waited for the oncoming traffic to pass. Moral to the story, if you are going to pass on the left, you should either see if faster moving traffic is oncoming or be prepared to actually pass them and hit the accelerator, not hang out next to them for several minutes clogging the lane. You have a right to do what you want like I said, what I explained is merely common courtesy.

I have no problem with our "rush hour" here. I get in a lane, play my music, and get home when I do. Have fun in court, and possibly Tent City, when you get pulled over for criminal speeding.

Glad you got home safely, I hope you won your little left lane passive aggressive control game tonight.

I consistently drive above the speed limit on freeways but also monitor which lane I should be in given my speed and flow of traffic. Sometimes 80 MPH is the far left lane, sometimes it's the second lane to the right. Adjust your lane to the flow of traffic instead of just getting into a lane and sticking there.

And no, I've never had a speeding ticket.

I thought the HOV lane meant it was for High On Valium drivers, especially the way some drive it.

As I have said many times in this thread, I do not sit in the left lane. With all this time you apparently have on your hands not commuting, it shouldn't be that hard to look at how this thread has evolved. Maybe do that instead of going 130 MPH on some road, expecting people to believe that you could see "miles" ahead of you and that no one was in danger because of your actions.
