The topic isn't dog friendly patios. The topic is "Dog friendly restaurants Pros and Cons". Dog cleanliness can be a pro or con depending on your point of view.

The OP asked for people's opinion on this practice. It has nothing to do with advocating for dog friendly patios.

I am against the idea. Dogs get bored while in restaurants. Their owners ignore them and the dog gets into mischief.

In LA, I had a lap dog steal my sandwich off my plate when I turned away for a minute. The lady seemed incredulous when I asked her to pay for my sandwich. Fortunately, the owner of the deli asked her to pay up and move on and brought me a new sandwich.

I will not eat at a restaurant with dogs around.

Another case where one is blaming the dog and not the owner to curb/control their own dog.

You could also replace the word "dog" with "kid" in your examples/view so I trust you don't eat in restaurants where kids could be present(which could be any restaurant) and act up, get "bored" in restaurants, where the parents "ignore" them, etc.

This is a blanket statement which does not apply to every dog and dog owner.

I'm pretty sure this was sarcasm but dogs absolutely have rights in this country. As do other types of pets.

Dogs are personal property. You are not allowed to abuse it physically, but it does not actually have rights.

Well, I can see this quickly turning into a debate on dogs vs. no dogs in general and that would likely get the thread shut down. Just trying to nudge it back in the direction of RESTAURANTS/PATIOS so it can stay alive.
