Good luck.
This is the single best and most important advice to pay attention to. Seriously, move somewhere within walking distance of your job if you can!!

I know there are going to be things I really miss about Milwaukee - no doubt about it. We have some great stuff going on but it's time for an adventure and this is just to good of an opportunity to pass up.

As for work - I will be working downtown - right near 1st and Washington. I'm really intrigued by your light rail but my employer is paying my parking so it will probably be more cost effective to drive.

After reading so many posts and listening to advise, I am planning on renting either a studio or one bedroom at first. I don't want to make a big financial commitment until I know where I want to be and that it's all going to work out

You are still paying for gas, and for wear and tear on your car. Some employers subsidize your bus/light rail, too, so check on that. I'd still live where I could use the rail or an express bus when I did not feel like driving, unless you are going to live within a few miles.

Traffic is an issue for me too and your advice is the best by far.

Live close to work if at all possible, it avoids long commutes and headaches.

Casey Jones on Bell comes to mind...

Packers Bars

And BOB/Chase Field has A/C and a retractable roof. No one would sit in 110 degree heat to watch a ball game.

Thanks everyone!

I'm just starting to look at apartments. I know there are some in the downtown area - that may be my best bet even if they are a bit more pricey.

Now to jump on line and buy some Brewers tickets!

The best Packer Bar is Buffalo Chip. Was owned by one of the players from 60's, can't recall which one, Max Magee maybe? can't remember but don't believe they own it any more. Also the only place I know to get a walleye fish fry. Stadium is indoors so it is cool. Brewers do have spring training here but I gave up on baseball years ago.
