i was able to verify that the cameras on the I-10 inbound are right as the speed drops to 55

as you go past 35th ave there is one little sign saying that speed reduces ahead, a sign posting the 55mph then cameras (they've added them to both sides of the street now)

i feel they should add speed limit signs more frequently and to both sides of the street as well

with the amount of commercial truck traffic on the 10 and given how wide it is there is a very strong chance that you wouldn't even see the signs on the right - i was hunting for them this morning in the 3rd lane from the left and even then they were difficult to see ............ there are going to be many people who get tickets because they didn't know the speed dropped 10mph on them, heck there really isn't even all that much time to get your speed down before the cameras - but I guess that is the point

Looks like the phoenix area government's are trying to control all the freeways. I've never seen so many cameras go up in a 2 week period. There is one facing south traffic at the Thomas exit on the I-51. There are several on the I-10 like finger has described. Looks like they are working on putting 2 up near Priest exit and by tempe town lake. I'm sure we will see one on the 143 and more on 60. DPS was testing an area of the I10 near the airport.

Looks like Phoenix is a 55mph town.

i'm seriously thinking about developing a "driving hood" that will be comfortable and airy, yet will keep the cameras from snapping pictures of my identity

Do they mail photos in which they can't identify the driver's face? I think you might be able to put a small sqaure of tin foil inside your windshield above your face and that would ruin the photo. But I ain't trying it.

if they can't identify the driver they can't ticket - without making any modifications to my car which could or could not be an issue I can make modifications to my looks, which there is absolutely zero laws against

My dad got a photo ticket and it was stupid too. THe picture said showed clearly a nissan badge and looked nothing like his truck, yet they gave him a ticket

When I am in a rush and chances of speeding is high, I bring one of my Halloween masks along for the ride...

I do not trust the DPS trucks at all - driving home last friday during rush hour they had one under 51st Ave off the 10

yes, rush hour on the 10 is the perfect place to setup a camera that isn't supposed to give tickets until you are 10mph over ...... so for this to have any influence it would have to stop people from going 75 mph on that section of i-10 at 5:30 PM

of course i went by it at about 38 mph - i think the HOV lane could of been going as fast as 45mph ........ somehow the thing flashed like it was ticketing someone

made me irate that someone could even potentially get a ticket in that scenario - there was zero chance anyone was going 55, let alone 75
