Every state has ways to generate income, most rely on tourists' $$, CA has Disneyland Knottsberry Farm, etc. AZ has the photo radar. Of course it is not as fun for the visitors and the ride may not be as much fun but you won't have to wait hours in a line to take the ride either.
I don't care what all the Simpletons and Mrs Daisies say, it is a revenue generating cash machines for the County/City/State hence the no point on your record unless you fight the ticket condition! I think it is a BS system even though I've never gotten one and it is not likely to go anywhere unless it becomes more costlier than profitable to the State.
At the meantime, while inclined to speed, keep your favorite halloween mask handy!!

To my best knowledge, there are no points taken IF you agree to make RedFlex and the State a bit more richer, err, I mean, IF you agree to pay the fine. The photo radar system was put in place with the sole purpose of revenue generating hence the Governor pushing the law to prevent point assessment so people will be more likely to pay than fight (which is something they do NOT want).
Pay the ticket if you do not want any complications or points being taken.
Of course insurance companies have been fighting the "NO POINTS FOR PHOTO RADAR TICKET" law ever since it has been passsed as a law.

Why, well, they want a piece of the pie! Every one of these b.st.rds want your hard earned $$, some eager to pay for a peace of mind and to avoid further trouble while smarter ones voice their opinions and try to fight it yet get labeled as 'whiners' by those who bendover to the system when they see the flash....
Btw, State of AZ thanks you for your business.

Points are only not assessed on the freeway cams. All in town cameras have possible points assessed unless you can avoid the process server long enough, then the ticket is dismissed.

I've searched this forum all 32 pages I think without finding this answer. Hopefully someone can help.
Resident of Phoenix. I recently received a Phoenix "reasonable and prudent" ticket in the mail, ignored it due to illegality of how it was served. Then received another a few days ago. My family is in the middle of a relocation to another state, I've already moved. The ticket says if I ignore it I *may* have a default judgment entered, *may* have license suspended, *may* incur a fine, *may* etc etc. It also says I *WILL* be subject to personal service and have to pay the cost of that.
I'm willing to bet that I will never see the process server. BUT, if I do, does anyone know if at that point I'll still have the option to just pay the ticket (plus server fee)?
Many thanks

they're not gonna say "if you ignore it, it will be dropped" on the ticket. I'd ignore it

Of course they are going to print a bunch of lawful sounding crap on there to scare the fainthearted!
I would normally urge you not to listen to the 'Cougar Hunter' but in this particular scenario, I would ignore too, especially if the new state you moved to is not near AZ (from your handle I am guessing you are in WA).

I've probably screwed up. Prior to learning of this site, I went to the web site on the mailed notice to see the photo to see if my face was clear (it wasn't on the mailed notice).
Question 1) By putting in the PIN, have I confirmed that I have been served? Theoretically, anyone who got that piece of mail could have gone to the site to see what might be there, so they actually have no confirmation who it was?
Question 2) Considering my 'dumb move' what is the penalty if I do nothing by the appearance date?
Question 3) if the appearance date passes, and I am contacted in some way with a summons, can I still sign up to take internet driver school to avoid the points?
Once I realized I had screwed up, I visited the sites for several of the driver schools, but noted that the final exam must either be taken at offices in AZ or in the presence of a Notary (which may be a real hassle to find notary that will allow me internet access while I take this exam.)

Rights and Privileges

If you are a citizen of the US, it is not a privilege to live here, it is a right. You can renounce your citizenship but it cannot be taken away from you. You may think of yourself as "privileged" to be an American but as a citizen you have a "right" to live here. Paying taxes is a responsibility that does not affect your right to reside here. If you fail to pay your taxes, you don't jeopardize your citizenship.
But this is getting off topic...

It's interesting, though, that it is considered a privilege to drive a car but to own a gun is a right.
