I understand that cities like Carefree can be cold during the winter, where is the warmest place during the winter?

What do you consider warm? Anything in Maricopa county is going to be within 5 degrees or so of each other, definitely not enough to really feel a difference. There's not a lot of elevation changes within the county...it's all pretty much the same.

Google:
"What percentage of Gilbert AZ is Mormons". Tada! See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilbert,_Arizona

I'll save you another second of research: It says: Various religious denominations are represented in Gilbert, including 17.26% claiming to be Roman Catholic, 11.12% Protestant and 12.6% Mormon. The town has been known for its high Mormon population, a fact evidenced by the LDS church's building of a temple in Gilbert.

The population of Gilbert is 230,000. So 230,000 * .126== around 29,000 Mormons. So there will be a lot of young clean-cut guys riding bikes. All will be wearing a white shirt and a tie. And of course a properly fitted bike helmet. They will be charged with the mission of "spreading the word".

I have no idea how many young Mormons are actually SERVING missions in Gilbert. Missionaries are not called to serve where they live. The missionaries are the ones you see on the bikes.

As far as the population numbers, I have seen the same figures. LDS members are, however, a majority of those on the Town Council and in town administrative positions. They are also the majority, I believe, on the Gilbert district school board.

As far as the original subject of this thread, areas like Carefree, Cave Creek and Anthem, will be chillier in the winter, but not by that much.

Flagstaff's record low was -30F, Maricopa County normally records at least one over night freeze per year, we have had snow in the Valley...yes, it gets cold in Arizona as a whole during the winter but it is going to vary between our deserts and the Rim Country.

In addition to Flagstaff the entire Mogollon Rim country, Show Low, Pinetop, McNary, etc. Any place with elevations above 5 or 6 thousand ft.
