Anti-prostitution billboard goes up near Sky Harbor; is it a bad first impression at the airport? - ABC15 Arizona

In regards to 1st impressions, Positive? Negative? No Effect?

Given just about everyone knows prostitution is illegal in most places in the US, to me it's like putting up a billboard that tells the vast majority of people what they already know on just about any activity that's illegal. What's the point?

Prostitution is everywhere, and everybody knows it.

Besides, when most people think about a city linked with prostitution, they think of Las Vegas, not Phoenix.

It's a negative, I'd say, and would have no effect.

Not too much different than a billboard declaring:
We'd greatly appreciate if you wouldn't KILL anyone while you're in town. Thank you, and please enjoy your stay!

It's stupid. Do the morality police really think someone's going to think about that billboard before they open their wallet and unzip? Why is it even illegal to begin with?

"well I was gonna pick up a hooker while I was in town, but since I saw that billboard...I guess I better not."

There is not one person in this city that doesn't know it's illegal, why do we need a billboard to remind them? Instead of spending money putting up that billboard, they should donate the funds to a sex trafficing organization. That would actually make a difference.

1. Its under-the-counter money that the feds cant touch.
2. It promotes the spreading of STD's.
3. It leads to abuse of women.
4. It brings in undesireables to communities.
5. It brings about pimps, who are often abusive also, and reap the rewards of untaxable money.

Some of that could be eliminated if it were legal and regulated.
