Elle should consider Hell Centro or Palm Springs .

I would NEVER live in California. Not even a thought.

Total misnomer. We are the sunshine state! They should rename FL "the tabletop-flat state".

Laughlin or Bullhead City may be up your alley. Plus they get the hot wind coming down the steep mountains on both sides of the Colorado.

Because we have the Grand Canyon and are proud to showcase it.

I was in Barstow, CA about a month ago, and it seemed like a nice little desert city. It was hot and dry! I like that Mojave Desert. But as far as cities go, Phoenix is the most awesome metropolitan area of the southwest. I'd get bored in a small city. I like all the people here, the cars, the freeways, and the exciting local news every evening.

Barstow is high desert like Victorville and Lancaster. They get snow in the winter. Hot summers like Phx but much cooler winters.Especially at night with temps in high teens and 20s.

That part of So Cal not exactly ideal weather. Might as well live in Kingman or Vegas with better politics.

I don't understand the complaining about rain or cloudy days either, after all we need it.

I'm a transplant from Michigan and I didn't move here for the weather, but I like a balance of clear days, cloudy ones, and a few good rainstorms mixed in.

The higher humidity is kind of nasty but at least it keeps the temperature down a little bit.

Yep, you're right about that. I also think Florida grabbed the term Sunshine State because they became a state (27) before Arizona did (48).

Moving to Phoenix just because you thought it was going to be hot and sunshiney nearly all the time was not very well thought out.

It's only hot for three or four months of the year, and one of our rainy seasons happens to be in the middle of the summertime.

It's predicted next winter might be cloudier and rainier than normal too, how will you handle that?

If you're unhappy with cloudy or rainy days you might want to heed the advice of the other posters and move to a place even hotter and sunnier than this. Have you considered somewhere in the Sahara Desert?

Marketing slogan drummed up by the FL Orange Growers decades ago - have some sunshine in your glass (orange juice).

At least you guys have A/C. Try a sticky humid monsoon season with swamp coolers.
