Well, it is not the worst neighborhood, but there are a whole lot better. This is towards the north side of Glendale, but you need to go more to the north to be considered North Glendale (for example: Arrowhead Mall area). This apartment is at the 8000 block of N. 61st Ave. You need to go to a minimum of say the 12000 block and preferably the 16000 and up block. If you are not already aware, the Phoenix area is built mostly like a grid. So 61st Ave. runs north and south and the block numbers go higher as you go north. The higher the block number the more north you are. So for example: from the address of the Northern Greens Apartments at 8150 N. 61st Ave. you go to for example: Sagewood Apartments at 15082 N. 59th Ave., you would be about 5 miles north and 2 streets east of Northern Greens.

Two things I must point out: the above explanation is far from expert advice or instruction as to whether certain places are good to live in or not ......
..........which leads to my second point: if you have never been to the Phoenix area before, be aware that unlike most major cities, the "not so nice areas" are not in one section of town. You can be standing in front of a million dollar home and go a mile down the road and have a less "economically sound" area. There are larger unsafe areas namely the Maryvale section of Glendale and you can find more information on that by searching this forum. I hope this helps in some way. Good Luck!
