^^^ Malls have been very significant to American history. Some boomed and busted and never came back, taking down entire regions of cities along with them. Others are renovated, some were converted to different things. It's pretty interesting, at least it is to me. Big malls drove tons of development nearby.

Christown mall is really interesting to me. It's totally different than what it once was, and today it's the intersection between the haves and the have-nots. On one side you have Target and Costco, and on the other, Walmart. (Curiously they are on the "wrong" sides of the mall, as Walmart abuts a higher area and Target a lower area.) The Target store might be the nicest one in the valley. Go inside and the store is absolutely immaculate. It doesn't feel any different than the one on Scottsdale Rd. just south of Carefree Hwy. The Walmart store, however...

The unfortunate thing about the Target at Christown is that it is disconnected from the mall. It might as well be somewhere else, as it is quite a hike from the front door of the Target to the interior of the mall. At least the Costco has a mall entrance.
