Newbie from east coast missing my roots. Job and family are in Gilbert but no temples. We will be house hunting soon but need to stay close to Gilbert for my teaching job and keeping kids in same school (if commute isn't too long). Any suggestions?

Nothing in Gilbert, but there are some congregations in the nearby cities of Chandler and Tempe:

Valley Congregations

North Central Phoenix and North Scottsdale are the traditional Jewish areas, but neither is particularly close to Gilbert.

I know a bunch and they all live in the NE phx area and N. Scottsdale. There are a few temples up that way.

My Jewish friends lived in Scottsdale and Phoenix (around the Biltmore area). My best friend, though, lived in Mesa and then moved to Glendale. Her temple all along was in Scottsdale, and she just commuted.

Look at Beth Yachad in North Phoenix, which is a Jewish and Messianic Jewish congregation, it is run by Rabbi Harlon Picker. Shalom! Welcome! | Beth Yachad Messianic Congregation - Phoenix, Arizona

They do have another Temple in Scottsdale as well.

I wouldn't go there anymore. It's slowed down quite a bit. Most jews I know are moving north.

I didn't think there was a single Jew in the west valley, judging by how things look! Or Asians.

That is decidedly not a Jewish Temple. It's some kind of "Jews for Jesus" cult.

That's a Jews for Jesus link. That's like advising a Catholic to attend the Mosque of Phoenix!
