Hi:

I am considering relocating to Phx and am seeking an area that is somewhat upscale or least an area that is well kept, safe and relatively crime/drug free. I will be renting an apartment or condo. I am a seasoned professional (50's) seeking work in the tech sector but do not currently have a new position lined up. It would be great if the location were central to business, shopping, freeways etc.

I spent time in Phx and Tucson many years ago and know that both have grown exponentially. I am also considering Tucson and like the idea of having access to Univ of Arizona, but I have concerns about crime/gangs and far fewer job ops. At the same time, I won't rule Tucson out.

For a frame of reference I currently live in Atlanta (Dunwoody) which is an established upscale area.
I appreciate any/all input relative to living/working areas and potential job ops. Thanks.

North Scottsdale, central Scottsdale, Biltmore, or Arcadia are what you are looking for.

Also Ahwatukee, or possibly Chandler/Gilbert area. Although the latter is pretty much families and not so much single professionals. Shopping is everywhere.
