I like both cities. We live in Goodyear but we're just over in Gilbert and I enjoy that area a lot as well. I agree, get a job first. Then decide. You don't want a long commute that's for sure!

The higher paying jobs are more prevalent in the east valley and Scottsdale, however, you'll have to deal with more people and congestion. We live in Goodyear and much prefer it to the bustling east valley. Good advice on finding a job then deciding where you're going to live.
