Default If McCain wins presidency; will Arizona benefit

What are your thoughts on this? I know the election is a long ways away but if John McCain wins, will Arizona benefit and how so?

If Mcbush wins there will be such a stampede northword of people that we will hear the roar of feet 3 states away. The population of Mexico will drop from 103 million down to a few hundred.

You should change your question to "Will Mexico benefit?"

You know, I'm really getting tired of the sour grapes over McCain from certain people in the Republican party. I don't know if you're a Republican or not, but your attitude is shared by a vocal few in the fringe wing of the party (Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, etc.).

McCain may not be the absolute best, and there are things he has said & done that I strongly disagree with ... but to suggest that his nomination or his win would encourage many more illegals to enter the U.S. is a bit extreme. It would also be great to have an Arizonan in the White House ... especially one who is a little more moderate in his views, and one who could easily work with both sides. Give the man a chance!

The extreme comments on McCain are so silly. I am not a republican and I do not agree with him on a lot of things, but seriously people. And people were saying they would go to Canada when Bush was elected again as well. None of those people left. It's just silly to leave a country because of it's president.

No, I don't think Arizona will benefit. I don't think the country will either. ;-)

I think the American people have the choice between three evils this election. Each one of them will cause us ecconomic hardships. Hillary has many plans, which are ill planned and poorly thought out, and very expensive. Obama is simply not experienced enough to run a country and has stated his support for Mexican illegals. McCain is, well, McCain. I guess we can only hold out hope that McCain will actually listen to the people (laughing). I feel a future disappointment coming...just like the disappointment I had with Bush. I will get behind MCain and support him, but I don't hold out much hope that things will improve, but at least we have hope.

I've actually been leaning further towards moving back down there if he wins. Honestly, I think the state will benefit, especially if line item veto ever comes into existance. I think he would just understand the needs of the state more than others would.

Simlarly, if either the 'great savior' Obama or 'evil' Clinton win, I think their bias towards the midwest and northeast will work against the state. Right now, Bush is sympathetic to some of the issues AZ faces as Texas faces those same issues. If either of the easterners are in office, they'd be more sympathetic to issues like manufacturing and union concerns than important issues facing AZ.

Just my thought.

McCain was long ago bought and paid for by the three Cs - construction, cotton, and copper - of Arizona. So if your perspective is that of a land developer, an agri-business, or a foreign-owned mining company then McCain in the White House is the return on investment you have hoped for all these years and good for "your" Arizona.

Ask yourself this did Arkansas really benefit when Clinton was president for 8 years??? It's still one of the poorest states in the union

BTW I really don't think or hope that McCain wins this election. It'll be like having Bush back in office again even though McCain is supposedly more liberal. SMH@ at the nerve of that old geezer still for the war
